Annual Fund 2008-2009

“I want to tell you what you already know which is obvious even to somebody who has been on your campus for 30 seconds or three days as we have. You’re part of a remarkable enterprise of students and adults. It’s unlike anything else probably in the world.”

-Ted Hill, Chair, California Association of Independent Schools Accreditation Team

At the core of our philosophy is “The Deal.” It is an agreement between the school and the student – an initial pledge that each is willing to try their best at all times. We believe this commitment between the student and the school builds a strong bond of trust, respect, and personal responsibility.

Our commitment to you, the parents, grandparents, and supporters of SBMS is that we will also do our best to protect and guide your child during these important developmental years. Our goal is that they flourish into well-rounded, competent, and compassionate young adults.

Your commitment to SBMS is just as important. Like most independent schools, tuition covers about 90% of our annual expenses, and we rely on tax-deductible gifts to meet the difference. Your contribution will support our faculty compensation, trip program, community service, arts, and financial aid program – every aspect of the school that your child enjoys this year.

Your contribution is important – not only in making ends meet – but is a critical component of our independent school accreditation by the California Association of Independent Schools. We hope to have 100% of our families, faculty, trustees, grandparents, alumni and alumni families participe in the Annual Fund. Your gift, large or small, is truly appreciated.
